9. Chris Mepham - £12m
The Wales defender moved from Brentford in January 2019 and has been prone to making the odd costly error, such as the clumsy red card in last week's play-off defeat to his former club which came when Bournemouth were leading the tie. Verdict: MISS Photo: Marc Atkins

10. Benik Afobe - £10m
Signed from Wolves in the summer of 2016, the DR Congo striker started well at the Cherries but then rapidly plateauxed as he struggled for game time. Was sold back to Wolves two years later for the same £10m fee. Verdict: MISS Photo: Mike Hewitt

11. Asmir Begovic - £10m
Signed for Bournemouth in May 2017. Struggled to replicate his Chelsea and Stoke City form and was dropped then loaned out, forcing Howe to deny a fall-out. Has returned to being the club's number one in the Championship. Verdict: MISS Photo: Alex Pantling

12. Tyrone Mings - £8m
Signed from Ipswich in June 2015 on a four year contract but only managed 10 league starts in 4 years due to injury. However, his performances were enough to secure a £20m to Aston Villa, rising to £25m with add-ons. Good business. Verdict: HIT Photo: Daniel Kopatsch
