'This cannot be real', 'this isn't going to end well', 'let's see if Hazard can use his hands': Celtic fans react to starting XI to face Lille

Neil Lennon has named his Celtic team for the final Europa League group-stage match with French club Lille with many changes to the starting XI.

Though it appears the 3-5-2 will remain from the weekend’s 1-1 draw with St Johnstone, there are six changes to the team which started the Scottish Premiership stalemate.

The big news is young goalkeeper Conor Hazard coming in for his Celtic debut in place of the underperforming Vasilis Barkas. There is also a change to the back three with Shane Duffy replacing Nir Bitton.

In midfield, Lennon has given Ismaila Soro and David Turnbull their first and second starts, respectively, while Patryk Klimala partners Mohamed Elyounoussi in attack.

Here’s what Celtic fans had to say about the surprising selection:

@kharmon67: “Not sure of the logic playing a young inexperienced goalkeeper behind this defence and a team with no confidence. But I’m this all part of Lennon’s plan to turn it around.”

@Skyseller67: “This isn’t going to end well. 3rd choice goalkeeper, Striker that can’t score, 2 midfielders the manager doesn’t rate, loan defender who is so off-form it’s not true.”

@JimtheTim_: “Surely Lennon is going to have to make 3 subs after 20 minutes tonight with how unfit these players he is picking are.”

@aidenburke1888: “Alright let's see if this hazard can save with his hands because barkas can't.”

@seanbirrell90: “I’m hoping Lennon is saying to these boys to play well so that’s impossible for them to be dropped Sunday.”

@Ian_Ramage21: “Now announce real team, this cannot be real.”
