Bolton stick with Neil Lennon after investigation

Neil Lennon will remain in charge of Sky Bet Championship club Bolton after they concluded their internal investigation into allegations made in a newspaper article.

Wanderers announced on Sunday that they would look into a report about Lennon’s private life that appeared in the Sunday Mirror.

On Tuesday they confirmed that, having concluded the internal investigation, Lennon would remain in his post at the Macron Stadium.

A club statement read: “Bolton Wanderers Football Club can announce that they have now concluded an internal investigation into an article published in the Sunday Mirror on Sunday 20 December.

“The club has dealt with the matter internally and acted accordingly, details of which will remain private.

Neil Lennon will remain in charge of the first-team squad.

“The club will be making no further comment on the matter.”

Bolton are bottom of the Sky Bet Championship and face a trip to Rotherham, also in the relegation zone, on Boxing Day.
