But one woman has managed to capture images of trees that are looking particularly magical this year.
Kirsty Tudor was heading out of her home town Falkland, in Fife, on the A92 when she spotted branches decorated with icicles on the side of the road.
"They’re just beautiful,” she said, talking about the trees she’s photographed covered in ice.
"And they’re changing every day.
"There was a huge puddle there before and I think as cars passed it splashed up and froze when there was a proper nippy wind.”
Kirsty photographed the trees as temperatures across the country reached record lows this winter.
Storm Darcy hit the country at the start of the week, with heavy snowfall from Monday through to Wednesday.
Some areas of the Scotland reached record levels of snowfall, including Braemar which saw 70cm of snow.
