Schools Closed Today: Here is the full list of schools closed in Scotland today, January 5

A number of schools across Scotland are closed today as heavy snow delays pupils return to the classroom.

With schools set to reopen following the festive period today (January 5), many have been forced to close to all staff and pupils due the weather.

The Met Office has issued warnings for large parts of the country, with regions including the North East, Highlands and Islands and more all impacted by an amber weather alert due to heavy snowfall and ice. This has been extended until the end of the day due to the risk of ice.

Ashley Road Primary School in Aberdeen is among the closed schools. | Lauren Jack / The Scotsman

With several councils closing all schools to pupils, and more delaying opening or planning to close early, here are all of the schools closed today, Monday, January 5.
