Army slammed over training range death

THE army has been slammed for failing to prevent the death of a soldier on an Afghan training range.

Lance Corporal James Hill of the Ist Battalion The Coldstream Guards was killed by an improvised explosive device on 8 October, 2009 on the range in Helmand province. A Surrey inquest found the army ignored fears of insurgent infiltration.
