Pedestrian seriously hurt after being hit by vehicle in Aberdeenshire

A pedestrian has suffered serious injuries after she was hit by an SUV.

The incident happened in High Street, Banchory, Aberdeenshire, at around 5pm on Tuesday,

It involved a black Nissan Qashqai, which was being driven by a 48-year-old man.

The 51-year-old woman was crossing the road at the time.

She was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary, where she is being treated for serious injuries.

The occupants of the vehicle were unhurt.

Sergeant Rob Warnock, from the Inverurie Road Policing Unit, said: “Inquiries into the circumstances of the incident are at an early stage and I am appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident or saw the black Nissan Qashqai or the female pedestrian prior to the incident to contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number PS-20181009-2666.”
