M8 crash: commuters face major delays on Scotland's busiest motorway following serious accident

Scotland’s busiest motorway has been shut following a serious crash which has delayed commuters for up to three hours.

The road is closed near Harthill, at J 4a westbound and J 5 eastbound, following one accident which happened at 4am on Friday 2 October.

Tailbacks are stretching as far back as Newhouse.

The busy road is also blocked eastbound, between J 6a and 4a at Chapelhall, due to a separate crash.
