A939 closed by snow for first time this winter

Snow today closed the A939 between Aberdeenshire and Moray - traditionally the first road of the winter to be shut.
The snow gates cordoning off a ten-mile stretch between Cock Bridge and Tomintoul were shut around noon, the Traffic Scotland information service reported.
It includes the Lecht snowsports centre, which is at nearly 2,100ft.
