Train timetables updated

RAIL bosses have confirmed that a full schedule of cross-border services will operate over Christmas and New Year.

Virgin Trains said a full list of Edinburgh-Birmingham services would run on the busiest days of the festive period.

However, it said trains from Birmingham New Street to Edinburgh via Carlisle would be particularly busy on Wednesday 29 and Thursday 30 December for passengers heading to the Capital for Hogmanay, with reservations strongly recommended.

The company said it would be running normal timetables to and from Scotland on New Year's Day and Sunday ,January 2 and Monday, January 3, after a later start-up than normal on the morning of January 1.
