Scottish skiers relishing Easter conditions

As much of the recent snowstorms caused initial difficulties for Scotland’s slopes, with access roads being blocked and runs closed due to the harsh conditions, Ski-Scotland says that a great deal of hard work has gone on in order to ensure a great weekend for Scottish skiers and snowboarders.

Heather Negus, Chair of Ski-Scotland, said: “With the weather forecast to continue cold throughout Easter, we recommend getting out and enjoying it. Come and have some great sliding in the mountains over the holidays.

“Most mountain ski areas are not really busy at this time of year, and over the past few weeks there have been few queues, with some ski areas reporting that customers have been skiing straight onto the lifts. While we can’t guarantee that will continue we can guarantee some great Easter snowsports in the Scottish Highlands.”

Conditions on Scotland’s mountains can change quickly, so anyone setting off should check the conditions at www.ski-scotland.com/conditions before leaving. Booking equipment beforehand is also a bonus.

This weekend also has some special Easter events, with half price at Nevis Range for those wearing fancy dress on Good Friday, a charity “onesie” event at CairnGorm Mountain on Easter Saturday and egg hunts at Glencoe Mountain on Easter Sunday.
