Race is on to book for Roux event

Food lovers are preparing to fight for reservations at a luxury Highland hotel for a gourmet weekend hosted by two of the world's leading celebrity chefs.

Inverlochy Castle in Fort William has pulled off the culinary coup featuring Albert Roux and his son, Michel Roux jnr.

A scramble for tickets is expected, with the November event due to sell out quickly despite prices for the weekend starting from 1,250 per room, based on two people sharing.

Michel, the head chef since 1993 at Le Gavroche, the first British establishment to gain three Michelin stars, is an expert judge on the BBC's Masterchef The Professionals.

His father, who has taught the likes of Gordon Ramsay, Marco Pierre White and Martin Wishart, opened his first Scottish venture - Chez Roux - in the five-star Rocpool Reserve in Inverness, which is owned by an investment group which also owns Inverlochy Castle.

The pair will be making appearances at the castle on Friday 11 and Saturday 12 November.

Guests will enjoy afternoon tea on Friday, followed by an informal three-course French countryside menu with wines. After breakfast on Saturday, Albert Roux will give a cookery demonstration with food from the session being sampled over lunch. On Saturday evening, there will be a formal five-course gala dinner with wine.
