Following Boris Johnson's appointment as the UK's Foreign Secretary, residents of Glasgow responded in a typically Glaswegian manner.

Little more than a week after his own leadership bid failed the former mayor of London was thrown a politcal lifeline by new Prime Minister Theresa May when he was given the prestigous role of Foreign Secretary.

But not everyone was thrilled with Ms May’s decision to offer Mr Johnson a Cabinet position given his pivotal role in the Leave campaign.

Within hours of the news someone had shared their thoughts on Mr Johnson on a wall in Glasgow’s Partick Cross, to the amusement of many on social media.

Last month trainspotting star Ewan McGregor hit out at Boris Johnson with an astonishing expletive-laden tweet.

The Scottish actor, currently in Scotland filming for the long-awaited sequel to Trainspotting, criticised Johnson just moments after the Conservative MP declared he would not be standing as a candidate in the forthcoming Tory leadership contest.
