Big Red Ramble targets Fayed's estate

A PEACEFUL demonstration is being planned on Mohamed al-Fayed’s Highland estate in protest at his opposition to land reform legislation.

The Harrod’s chairman, who has owned the 65,000-acre Balnagown Estate in Ross-shire for 30 years, has criticised flagship proposals to increase public access to land in Scotland and give crofters right-to-buy powers even when landowners do not want to sell.

The protest on 27 April, called the Big Red Ramble, is being organised by the SSP, which is fielding a candidate in Caithness, Sutherland & Easter Ross.
