In reaction, her husband, Peter Murrell said he had been “dumped” as her hairdresser.
Barbers and hairdressers across Scotland reopened this morning as another cohort of businesses were allowed to being operations for the first time since the start of the lockdown.
Back in May, Digby Jones, a crossbench peer in the House of Lords, accused Ms Sturgeon of breaking the lockdown to have her hair professionally cut.
He tweeted that the First Minister’s hair was “something that’s concerning” him.
He asked why her hair was “immaculate” given the “enforced social distancing rules” across Scotland.
“Always done herself? Always? I think we should be told! C’mon Nicola! All your own work? Surely not!
“One rule for the rulers…” his tweet concluded.
Responding to Lord Jones’ jibe at the time, the First Minister wrote on Twitter: “The number of men, like his Lordship here, who are obsessed with my hair is a bit weird tbh,” adding, “Whereas most women look at it and just know no hairdresser has been anywhere near it.”
