The formerly feuding siblings have buried the hatchet after police escorted the 55-year-old Britain’s Got Talent star from the BA lounge following a row with staff which prompted her to seek solace in her older brother.

“I’m very happy,” she said. “It’s a great relief and I’m looking to the future with a happy smile. Everything is hunky dory and fantastic.”

Recalling the moment his sister contacted him after the airport incident in April, Gerry, 62, said that he had never heard the singer so distressed and was adamant that they had healed their relationship.

Susan, who grew up in Blackburn, West Lothian, and is now worth an estimated £22 million, had a major fallout with her brother in December 2013, when other members of their family claimed that Gerry had persuaded her to give him £50,000 by threatening to commit suicide.

Her brother said: “We hadn’t spoken for two-and-a-half years but, when all is said and done, I am her brother. I realised how said it was that we didn’t speak.”
