Scottish Fire and Rescue crew increase appliances at gorse fire in Moray village

Scottish Fire and Rescue are currently attending a gorse fire in a small village in Moray with six fire appliances and a wildfire unit at the scene.

A fire spokeswoman confirmed that the SFRS are attending a gorse fire in Kingston, Moray after they arrived on Beach Road at about 3.45pm today with three appliances and a water carrier.

However, six fire appliances are currently in attendance with a wildfire unit also at the scene of the ‘gorse fire’, SFRS confirmed.

The fire has been described as “5m deep” at its worst.

Firefighters are using two jets and two breathing apparatuses as they attempt to put out the flames.

The incident is ongoing.
