Scots soldier accused of racist tweet to Lily Allen

A SCOTTISH soldier is being investigated by the British Army after he was accused of sending a racist message to pop star Lily Allen.

Sniper Lance Corporal Harry Wilson, of the Royal Scots Borderers, 1st Battalion, The Royal Regiment of Scotland, posted on social networking site Twitter: “All the best with your new family just seen you bought s*** I meant adopted a child from Africa £hero.”

The singer, who previously suffered two miscarriages, 
then sent a tweet to the Army, saying: “Do you condone 
@harrywil2010 racist comments? His profile says he is in the British Army. He needs 
disciplining.”

Lance Cpl Wilson’s page has been removed from Twitter as investigations continue.

The 1 SCOTS guard’s family reportedly said his message had been “taken the wrong way”, claming there was a comma missing.

His aunt Shirley Allison said: “There is not a racist bone in his body. No way was it meant in a racist way.”

An army spokesman said: “Anyone who falls short of the army’s high standards would have appropriate action taken against them.

“The British Army does not condone racism. An investigation is ongoing.”
