Randy Newman announces date for rescheduled Edinburgh gig

Legendary American composer-pianist Randy Newman has announced the date for his rescheduled Edinburgh gig.

The veteran singer-songwriter was due to visit The Usher Hall on June 5, but was forced to cancel due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

Now, the 77-year-old has re-booked his Capital gig for Sunday, March 20, 2022.

The six-time Grammy winner's An Evening With Randy Newman tour will see him performing songs from a five-decade career.

Alongside tracks from most recent releases Dark Matter and The Randy Newman Songbook, Newman will perform fan favourites such as I Love LA, You've Got A Friend In Me and Short People.

Newman is also behind the scores for some of Hollywood’s most memorable movies, and has received 20 Academy Award nominations in the Best Original Score and Best Original Song categories, winning two.

He recently received a Golden Globe nomination for his work on Netflix’s acclaimed Marriage Story.

Tickets for Newman’s Usher Hall gig are available now from the venue’s website.
