Police reissue appeal for Edinburgh man reported missing in North Berwick a week ago

Richard Forbes has been missing since March 18

Officers from Edinburgh and East Lothian are continuing searches in North Berwick for Richard Forbes, 52, who was reported missing one week ago.

Richard was reported missing from his home in the Duddingston Crescent area of Edinburgh on Wednesday 18 March. Enquiries since that time have established that he travelled to the Canty Bay area of North Berwick, where he visited a café at around 2.50pm.

Police will be carrying out further searches and enquiries in the Canty Bay area today.

Richard is described as being a white man, around 6ft 2, medium build, with grey hair.

Sergeant Alastair Sadler, from Craigmillar Police Station in Edinburgh, said: “We have been making extensive enquiries over the past week to establish Richard’s movements and any information could prove vital to these efforts.

“We’re asking anyone who may have seen Richard in North Berwick to come forward and speak with officers who will be in the area, or please call Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident 2035 of 18 March.”
