‘Much loved’ NHS Scotland nurse dies from coronavirus

Her family described her as “a much loved wife, mother, sister, granny and great granny, as well as a friend to many more.”

A “much loved” veteran nurse has died after contracting coronavirus, according to a joint statement from NHS Borders and her family.

Angie Cunningham died in intensive care at the Borders General Hospital on Wednesday.

Angie was a much loved wife, mother, sister, granny and great granny, as well as a friend to many more,” the statement read.

“Angie worked in NHS Borders for over 30 years and during this time was a much respected and valued colleague within the hospital, providing amazing care to the patients.

“She was very proud to be a nurse alongside her love for her family.

“We ask that you respect the privacy of all involved at this time,” it concluded.
