Misfits hit big screen

HUNDREDS of fans of The Inbetweeners turned out to greet their favourites as their big-screen film was given its world premiere in London.

The hit TV show followed four misfits through high school while the film sees them graduate and embark on their first boys’ vacation.

The film follows the fortunes of the characters played by Simon Bird, Blake Harrison, Joe Thomas and James Buckley as they head off to Greece.

The quartet said they were amazed at the huge crowds at the premiere, some of whom had waited for hours for a glimpse of their heroes. Bird said: “It feels surreal.”

The original comedy ran for three series from 2008 and was twice nominated for Best Situation Comedy at the Baftas, in 2009 and 2010. Plans are already under way for a US television version.
