What's your mobile phone?

It's a very unfancy two-year-old Nokia. Someone laughed at it the other day.

What is your signature scent?

My other half bought me some Jo Malone cologne. It's unisex so it'd suit any man, woman or plant.

What brand of underwear do you favour?

Nowadays I opt for good old Marks & Spencer underwear. They're nicely made and a pleasure to wear.

What sheets are on your bed?

They're white cotton from Habitat or Marks & Spencer.

What car do you drive?

It's a Mercedes A-Class.

Favourite Champagne?

I'm not a big fan of Champagne. I've been suckered by the Magners cider adverts so I'm drinking lots of that.

Brand of coffee?

I very rarely make coffee at home as it makes me wired and anxious. I do drink a lot of tea though.

Which magazine is always on your coffee table?

I get Mojo or The Word.

Stereo or iPod?

I have an iPod but I prefer to listen to music on my record player at home.

Cubic zirconium or diamonds?

My favourite pieces of jewellery are my silver ID bracelet and Paul Smith watch - both presents from me to me.

Superdrug or Este Lauder?

I buy my other half a pot of Crme de la Mer every couple of months and we share it.

What is your favourite piece of furniture?

We've got two great 1960s armchairs.

Favourite bag?

I have a checked canvas Daks holdall with leather straps.

What is your oldest possession?

It's a yellow slightly squashed teddy called Pongo.

Most dog-eared book?

George Orwell's Animal Farm had a huge impact on me when I was 11 years old and I go back to it every few years.

What item do you wish you had never bought?

Athlete's first album. I liked one song, bought the album and then discovered that all the other songs sounded the same.

Favourite nick-nack?

I have two lead figures of Laurel and Hardy from the 1940s.

What is your favourite labour-saving device?

My washing machine, imagine if I had to go and wash my clothes in the Thames?
