Police are appealing for help to identify a man who was rescued from the water at Strathclyde Park and is now in critical condition in Wishaw General hospital.

The man was assisted by the public until the emergency services arrived in the Goose Beach area of the park at 3.25pm on Monday, June 1.

He is described as being in his late 40s, 5 foot and 9 inches tall, slim built with medium length brown hair which is greying, and has a small cross tattoo on his left arm.

At the time of the incident he was wearing a grey zipper, a navy top, navy swim shorts and dark trainers.

He was in possession of a Tesco shopping bag.

Police Scotland has said that he does not match any reports of a missing person and he remains unidentified.

Anyone with any information is asked to call 101 quoting incident number 2284 of Monday, June 1, 2020.
