The pair were coupled following a European Endangered Species Breeding Programme.

The staff have high hopes as the couple have already successfully bred once before in 2017, when Victoria gave birth to Hamish, the first polar bear cub born in the UK for 25 years.

Hamish left the Highland Wildlife Park in 2020 aged two and a half to aid the endangered species programme.

Victoria also had a cub at Aalborg Zoo in Denmark.

The Highland Wildlife Park is currently closed due to Covid19 restrictions but anybody who would like to donate to help feed and care for the animals, click here.
