Interview: Josie Long, comedian

What’s the last piece of clothing you bought?

I bought three playsuits and three bikinis to wear on holiday. They are so at odds with the rest of my clothes that I don’t know where to put them in my cupboard.

Best ever bargain? I bought a handmade satin dress, embroidered with beautiful bead flowers from a charity shop as a teenager. It’s from the Fifties and is lovely, and it was just £6.

Who has great style? My friend Julie Rose Bower dresses like a French actress from the past on holiday in Milan, she always looks incredible. I like people who dress like French sailors.

Name your favourite high street shop. Lush. It’s not a clothes shop, but it is dead nice.

What are you addicted to buying? I am quite scruffy and tend to wear things to death. I do buy a lot of hoodies though, because of my street lifestyle.

Any fashion disasters? I bought a long down jacket to climb Mount Kenya in, it’s giant and really warm but it looks terrible. I wore it all winter and people looked at me with sympathy and panic in their eyes.

What’s your favourite item in your wardrobe? I have this one pair of beautiful woollen tights. And I like a bobble hat.
