‘He continues to grow and become more confident and trusting’: Heartwarming story from animal charity as they save dog with 60 gun-pellet wounds

The Scottish SPCA has shared the heart warming story of the successful rehabilitation, and care in his new forever home, of dog who had ended up in the charity’s care with 60 gun-pellet wounds.

Ashton – now named Cooper by his new family – was taken in by the charity’s centre in Lanarkshire frightened and in pain.

He worried the team initially with his aggressive tendencies, but an examination by the vet revealed the extend of his injuries, which were the cause of his behaviour.

The pellets removed and Ashton received the care needed to recover.

His temperament went through a positive change.

He was adopted into a new family, and is settling in well.

The Scottish SPCA wrote: “Every day he continues to grow and become more confident and trusting of his new family.”
