Donald trump's son arrives in Scotland

The American president's youngest son jetted into Scotland today to take friends on a tour of his family golf clubs.

Eric Trump arrived in Aberdeen and headed straight to Menie Estate, the links course his father had built on the outskirts of the city after buying the land in 2006.

The 33-year-old was taking time out of his busy schedule to relax before his first baby makes an appearance into the world in September.

The executive vice president of the Trump Organisation and his 33-year-old wife Lara announced that they were expecting a baby boy earlier this year.

The excited couple have been busy preparing for their new arrival which will be the US president’s ninth grandchild.

At the weekend Eric revealed how much he was looking forward to his new family life when he posted a photograph of himself online enjoying a day out with the glowing mum-to-be.

The pair were pictured standing in the summer sun in front of a lake at the US Woman’s Open which took place at the Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster, New Jersey.

Eric told fans on Twitter that it was a “great weekend”, adding: “We’re excited - baby in less than 2 months!”

Eric and his older brother Donald Jnr are running their father’s company while he is president of the United States. Mr Trump handed over the reigns of his business empire to his family days after he was sworn in as the 45th US president.

The youngest son was a key advisor to his father in the run-up to the election making several television appearances with his pretty wife during the campaign.

After arriving in Aberdeen on the Trump jet with pals. he headed out to the family’s Menie Estate links course near Balmedie in Aberdeenshire to unwind.

Eric said: “We own phenomenal golf courses around the world and none more so than in Scotland and Ireland.

“I’m immensely proud to bring friends and guests with me to experience our great properties in Aberdeen, Turnberry and Doonbeg. Aberdeen is a very special property within our portfolio and we have great plans for continuing this incredible development in the years to come.”

The businessman will take the group of 30 golfers down to Turnberry before jetting out to Ireland to play another round at Trump Doonbeg later in the week.

It is Eric Trump’s first visit to Aberdeen this year. Sarah Malone, Executive Vice President, Trump International Golf Links, Scotland said: “We are delighted to welcome Eric Trump and his guests from the US to Aberdeen today.

“The course is in wonderful condition and has matured beautifully since his visit last summer. We have a great day of golf and Scottish hospitality planned and are excited to showcase the resort to Eric’s esteemed guests.”
