Coronavirus in Scotland: No new deaths from covid recorded as 132 positive cases reported in last 24 hours

The latest Scottish Government figures reveal that no deaths and 132 positive covid cases have been recorded in the past 24 hours.

The 132 positive cases represent 1.5% of the 10,195 new tests for covid that reported results.

No new reported deaths of people who have tested positive for the virus have been recorded.

However, the Scottish Government noted that Register Offices are now generally closed at weekends and public holidays.

67 people were in hospital yesterday with recently confirmed covid - nine of these were in intensive care.

In addition, yesterday 10 confirmed covid-19 patients were in intensive care longer than 28 days.

In Scotland’s vaccine rollout, 2,824,955 people have received the first dose of the Covid vaccination and 1,326,599 have received their second dose.

As it is a public holiday on Monday, the Scottish Government commented that only headline statistics such as new cases, test positivity rate, deaths and vaccinations have been provided.

Remaining statistics will be updated on Tuesday May 4.
