Carly Booth: Scottish golfer stars in hilarious new Paddy Power ad where she deals with an internet troll

Scottish professional golfer Carly Booth makes a stand against an internet troll in a hilarious new Paddy Power ad.

Betting company Paddy Power have release a new advert showing women sports stars taking a sexist, obnoxious man to account.

The advert shows a group of friends in a boozer watching Booth play golf on television, with one of the friends making derogatory comment about women playing sport, claiming he could: “Beat her with my eyes closed."

Persuaded to drop her a social media message, Booth responds by challenging him to a game (“No problem gammon head. Didsbury Golf Course, tomorrow at 9am. See you then”) where she proceeds, naturally, to soundly beat him.

At the end of the game, she smiles and walks away with a well timed: “You should stick to the kitchen sweetheart.”

The advert ends with the troll back in the pub claiming Booth never showed, before again, slamming the female athletes on the telly.

This time, its darts, and he claims: “The only board a woman should see is a chopping board” clearly unaware that professional darts player Fallon Sherrock is standing behind him.

Born in Comrie, Booth is the youngest-ever Scot to qualify for the Ladies European Tour in 2009 at 17-years-old.

She has since won the Aberdeen Asset Management Ladies Scottish Open as well as the Deutsche Bank Ladies Swiss Open.

She also won the Tipsports Czech Ladies Open in the 2019 Ladies European tour.
