The Scot's nomination in the inaugural Forbes magazine list comes after he won the Davis Cup for Great Britain's first victory in 79 years.

Murray’s status as the world No.2 and current Olympic champion also cemented his appearance in the list, after victories at Wimbledon and the US Open

Other Britons make the star-studded shortlist, including athlete Jessica Ennis-Hill, singers Adele and Ed Sheeran and actress Emma Watson. The list by the American magazine celebrates the “top young leaders, creative inventors and brash entrepreneurs in 10 different sectors”.

The celebrated list names a total of 300 people across 10 categories as diverse as social entrepreneurship, ecommerce, entertainment and the arts. Entries were judged by a panel of experts in their field, including TV personality Kelly Osborne and fellow Scot Michelle Mone.

Randall Lane, Editor of Forbes, said: “Researching, vetting and launching our first ever 30 Under 30 Europe list was an incredible task. We scoured the continent to find the most talented millennials and, with the help of our expert judges, are proud to honour 300 of the most important young entrepreneurs, creative leaders and brightest stars in Europe right now.”
