Amazon to create more than 300 permanent jobs in Scotland this year

Amazon have announced that it will have created more than 300 additional permanent roles in Scotland by the end of this year and are also recruiting for more than 2,000 seasonal positions to support their festive operations.

The fulfilment centre in Dunfermline, which currently employs more than 1,000 people in permanent roles, will create a further 200 permanent roles by the end of 2020. It is also hiring for more than 1,000 seasonal roles.

The delivery and sort centres in Bathgate, Dundee and Motherwell will have increased their permanent headcount from around 170 at the beginning of 2020, to more than 300 by the end of the year.

The delivery and sort centre in Bathgate will have increased its permanent headcount from around 90 at the beginning of 2020, to more than 150 by the end of the year. It is also hiring for more than 200 seasonal roles.

The Dundee station will have increased its permanent headcount from around 30 at the beginning of 2020, to more than 50 by the end of the year. It is also hiring for more than 80 seasonal roles.

The delivery station in Motherwell will have increased its permanent headcount from around 50 at the beginning of 2020, to more than 80 by the end of the year. It is also hiring for more than 100 seasonal roles.

The new roles, including engineers, graduates, HR and IT professionals, health and safety and finance specialists, as well as the teams who will pick, pack and ship customer orders, will help Amazon meet growing customer demand and enable small and medium sized enterprises selling on Amazon to scale their businesses.

Amazon has already offered temporary roles to thousands of people whose job was impacted at the height of the Covid-19 pandemic, many of whom will now be able to transition into a permanent role with the potential for a career within Amazon.
