Aberdeen local lockdown: These eerie images show the empty streets of the city as new lockdown rules enforced

These images show emptying streets of Aberdeen as lockdown restrictions are reimposed.

Bars, cafes and restaurants in Aberdeen were ordered to close as lockdown restrictions were reimposed in Aberdeen over a coronavirus cluster in the area.

First Minister Nicola Sturgeon said on Wednesday 54 cases have now been reported in the outbreak She said the rise in cases heightens fears the Scottish Government is "dealing with a significant outbreak in Aberdeen that may include some community transmission". A five-mile travel rule has been put in place and residents are being told not to enter each other's houses.All indoor and outdoor hospitality venues were told to close by 5pm on Wednesday. These pictures show an eerily empty city centre as businesses close and people stay home.
