Natalie Donald managed to capture the uncommon meteorological event from the summit of the mountain. She told The Scotsman how she fell in love with Munro-bagging shortly before lockdown, and of the awe she felt looking down on the clouds from top of Beinn Narnain.
9. Number 18
Beinn Narnain was the 18th Munro climbed by Natalie, who took up hillwalking earlier this year. “The first three that I did were hiked shortly before lockdown, and the other 15 have been in the past couple of months,” she explained. Photo: Natalie Donald and Laura McGee
10. Walking in groups
"I sometimes go with just me and my fiancée," said Natalie, "whereas other times I will advertise an event on a walking group; or go on my own if I feel capable and sufficiently skilled for the hill in question." Photo: Natalie Donald and Laura McGee
11. "Hills have replaced brunches"
"I think it's good to try to climb with people a bit better than you when you can, as it definitely pushes you, and you learn a lot more. Quite frankly, I'm a bit competitive and I like a challenge," said Natalie, "The weekend brunches have now been swapped for hills, which I am sure some of my friends are not wild about!"
