Who pays?

Martin Paterson of Gaia-Wind (Letters, 8 October) should be congratulated on the success of his company, but he should not lose sight of the fact that the purchasers of his product are being paid subsidies from the public purse that make his wind turbines worth buying.

Without those subsidies his product would not be commercially viable, and would not exist.
