Letter: Pushed off track

RECENT correpsondence regarding cyclists using busy, narrow sections of the A9 and A7 trunk roads, when alternative cycle paths are available for these sections, asks if they should be forced to use these paths, and shows commendable concern for their safety.

Maybe I can offer some advice: if the Highland and Borders cyclists show the same regard for the laws of the road (one-way streets, traffic lights, pavement-cycling, etc.) as their Edinburgh counterparts, then I suggest that the best way to achieve this end is to erect a sign at the start of the path saying "cyclists prohibited".
