Airport staff

The current industrial action being taken by the security staff of the Highlands & Islands Airports serves to underline how these employees are expected to undertake repetitive but important security checks to keep our air travel safe yet are poorly paid and with meagre employment conditions.

Whoever takes power at Westminster after the general election should make it a priority to introduce legislation guaranteeing decent living wage levels linked to inflation changes to ensure that no employees are expected to work for less than a living wage.
