Mental health unit praised

A PRIVATE hospital for children and adolescents with mental health issues and eating disorders has received a positive report from a government watchdog.

February’s inspection at Huntercombe Hospital, in Uphall, found both quality of care and support and quality of staffing was “very good” – the second highest of six rankings.

The Healthcare Improvement Scotland team found that requirements ordered following an inspection last September had also been met.

Then, hospital managers were told to improve record-keeping in relation to medication and extend a programme of training in children and adolescent mental health to all staff.
