The man was thrown from his green Kawasaki motorbike after leaving the A87 Invergarry to Uig road, seven miles north of Invergarry.
The accident happened at about 3:50pm on Sunday.
A Police Scotland spokesman said: “The collision involved a Green Kawasaki motorcycle which was being ridden in a northerly direction.
“As a result of the collision the 22-year-old male rider was flown by air ambulance to Ninewells Hospital, Dundee with serious injuries.”
The road remained closed for almost six hours as police carried out investigations into the crash.
The accident comes after police issued warnings to bikers travelling on country roads in the north, and just days after two motorcyclists were killed in separate smashes.
Alexander Brown, 33, from Glasgow, died when his bike crashed on the A87 road near Luib on Skye last Sunday.
Alexander Watson, 52, who lived in Orkney, died following a collision with two vans on the Churchill Barriers Road on the islands on Wednesday.
