It is to be sold at auction next week and prospective bidders have been invited to arrange viewings.

The sellers said there has been “a lot of interest” in the property – but declined to say how many have been to view Savile’s former retreat.

They confirmed that trustees of his estate wanted a “swift conclusion” to the sale of the cottage which has been vandalised.

The former Top of the Pops presenter bought Allt-Na-Reigh, near Glencoe, in 1998.

It is where he once entertained Prince Charles. The cottage has been targeted by vandals four times, including once earlier this month.

The two-bedroom house with “attractive views over Glencoe” has been listed by Ross Harper Property Auctions.
