Highland Skibo Castle is sold

SPECULATION was mounting last night that the exclusive Highland estate which hosted Madonna’s wedding has been sold.

According to reports, Skibo Castle in Sutherland has been bought by a group of members of the Carnegie Club, founded by the millionaire businessman, Peter de Savary.

A source close to Skibo said: "As far as we are aware, the estate and hotel has been sold to a group of businessmen from the Carnegie Club."

The Carnegie Club is an exclusive club which boasts some 500 members - mostly wealthy businessmen from America and Europe - who pay an annual fee of 3,000 to use the Skibo estate.

In addition to the luxurious hotel, the 7,500 acre estate is also home to a golf course and a spa. Guests can also indulge in horse riding and shooting.
