They are offering s a haven for anyone looking for respite from coverage of the general election.

General manager Chris Webb said: “It’s all about making use of our natural resources and giving people a good excuse to take advantage of them.

“With scenery like ours, we find people don’t come here to watch the telly. There are more satisfying things to do.

“This isn’t a statement about the quality of debate, nor are we saying that we’ll ban politics.”

He added: “Instead we appeal to customers who are in a position to make the most of a few days away in this corner of the northwest Highlands and at the same time turn down the volume on the election. It gives people time to themselves, swapping hot air for fresh air.”

Mr Webb said they are offering an alternative to those who have already made their minds up, taken advantage of the postal vote, need some quiet time for uninterrupted reflection on the issues raised, or have decided they can’t stand it anymore.

He said that being located 26 miles north of Ullapool, in the north west of Scotland, the hotel and restaurant will provide the perfect sanctuary an an election free zone.
