A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: “Indications are that the tragic death of 11 year-old Ruby Dench is as a result of an abnormality in her heart.

“The full outcome of a post mortem will not be available for some weeks when test results are returned.

“There is no indication that the death was in any way connected to facilities at the watersports centre and as such there is no cause for any wider concern.

“The death is not suspicious, however a full enquiry will be done in liaison with PSNI. A report has been made to the Procurator Fiscal.”
