Stunning photos of osprey making two-fish catch in Highlands

INCREDIBLE images have been captured of an osprey catching two rainbow trout at a Highland loch.

The raptor was caught swooping down and grabbing the fish with its powerful talons at Rothiemurchus in Kincraig on Monday.

Ospreys migrate each spring from Africa and nest in tall pine trees around the Aviemore area.

The bird of prey was hunted to the point of extinction in the Victorian era, but their migratory habits eventually brought them back to Scotland, with the first successful breeding pair being recorded in 1954.
