6. Enjoy a spooky Halloween parade
On Sunday, October 31, from 4pm, the Carnival Arts Yard will be putting on live music, dance, installations and workshops on the Forth & Clyde Canal by the Garscube Link Bridge, before a Zombie Walk and Lantern Procession heads through Applecross Basin. Organisers said: "Bring yourself, torches and lanterns, your best costumes and ideas, and we’ll celebrate the classic Scottish tradition of Halloween in style as the whole world watches Glasgow." 7. Support a great Glaswegian charity with a brilliant Friday night out
The Landing Hub venue, in Glasgow's Broomie Law, will be opening its doors on Friday, October 29, for an evening to raise cash for the Refuweegee charity, who are dedicated to welcoming and supporting refugees who arrive in Glasgow. The evening will include performances by artists and musicians including the Pilgrims of Nature, the Seed Sistas and Roo and Pablo, who have spent eight weeks walking 500 miles to COP26. Organisers say: "Expect Scottish folk music, plant wisdom, extraordinary audiovisuals, and the joy of being together." The party is free, but donations are welcome. Photo: Refuweegee
