Person airlifted to hospital after horror two-car crash on Scottish road

The two-vehicle crash has left two people in hospital

One person has been airlifted to hospital following a two-vehicle crash on the A90 in Kincardineshire.

Another person was taken to hospital by road following the collision, which happened near Laurencekirk at 10.20am on Wednesday.

A Scottish Ambulance Service spokesperson said multiple vehicles had been sent to the scene.

“We received a call at 10.22 to attend a two-vehicle road traffic collision on the A90 near Laurencekirk,” they said.

“We dispatched two ambulances, three special operations response teams, a trauma team, and one air ambulance to the scene.

“One patient was transported to Ninewells Hospital by road and one patient was transported to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary by air ambulance.”

The road has been closed in both directions between Laurencekirk and North Water Bridge.

Police said local diversions were in place, and have urged motorists to avoid the area if possible.
