Driver dies as car bursts into flames

A MOTORIST died yesterday after his car burst into flames when it crashed into trees lining a Highland road.

The accident happened on the B9091 Croy to Clephanton road, near Inverness Airport, just before 5pm. Locals who heard the smash saw the car burst into flames.

Firefighters extinguished the blaze, but could not rescue the driver.
