A Prison Service spokesperson confirmed that the serial killer died in hospital this morning and BBC claim that he had contracted Covid-19.
The serial killer was serving a life term for murdering 13 women across Yorkshire and north-west England between 1975 and 1980.
In 1981 he was convicted and spent thirty years at Broadmoor Hospital before being moved to HMP Frankland in County Durham in 2016.
Bob Bridgestock, former police officer who worked with the force on the hunt for Sutcliffe, said he "won't be shedding any tears".
