The body of a woman – who was discovered in Aberdeen after she failed to show up for a coronavirus vaccination appointment – may been undiscovered for years, it has been reported.

According to the Evening Express, the body of the woman which was discovered in a property on Alison Close in the city’s Cove area could have been there for as long as three years.

Police were called to the address on the afternoon of Thursday, February 25, with forensics officers in attendance in the following days.

Officers are understood to be treating the death as unexplained, with a report being sent to the procurator fiscal.

It is understood that the timeline of the death is once aspect of the police investigation.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Officers were called to an address in Allison Close, Aberdeen, on Thursday, 25 February, 2021 after the body of a woman was found within. The death is being treated as unexplained and enquiries are ongoing. A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”
