Woman dies after fatal car crash in Glasgow as police investigate

A woman has died after a fatal car crash in Glasgow.

Police are appealing for information about the incident which happened around 5.35pm on Monday, December 14 close to the junction of Barrhead Road and Boydstone Road.

Emergency services attended the scene and a 46-year-old woman was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital where she died a short time later.

The crash involved a blue Subaru Impreza.

Police kept the road closed until 1.45am on Tuesday while an investigation was carried out.

Sergeant Stewart Taylor, of the Road Policing Unit, said: “We are supporting the woman's family at this incredibly difficult time.

"Enquiries into the circumstances surrounding this crash are ongoing and we are encouraging anyone with any information to get in contact with officers.

“If you were in the area at the time or have any potential dashcam footage that could assist with our investigation, I would urge that you get in touch via 101, quoting reference number 2483 of 14 December."
